POZ Publishes Excerpt of Randy Boyd’s The Unfrozen Few
From the first gasp, the opening chapter is a roller-coaster ride.
POZ has published the opening of Randy Boyd’s The Unfrozen Few, Book One: Welcome to the Future, in which a group of AIDS patients frozen in the 1980s wake up in a dark room with no apparent way out. As the green glow of their cryo-chambers fades, the questions come fast: What year is it? Is there a cure? And where are the scientists who froze them?
Founded in 1994 to amplify the voices of people living with HIV, POZ has a long history with Boyd. The magazine published his essay “Halftime Show” in 2008 and named him to the 2018 POZ 100, which honored people living with HIV who are 50 and over.
“POZ magazine has long reflected the broad and diverse world of people living with HIV,” Boyd said. “I’m deeply grateful for the ways they’ve supported and recognized my voice over the years, and for the vital work they continue to do.”
