Randy Boyd Joins Tony Glover for Two-Part Super Queer Podcast Interview
The show’s host calls The Unfrozen Few “one of the best I’ve read.”
Tony Glover’s The Super Queer Podcast featured Randy Boyd in a two-part interview about The Unfrozen Few, Book One: Welcome to the Future. The story follows a group of AIDS patients who wake up in present-day America after being cryogenically frozen in the 1980s.
Glover, a writer and co-founder of OUT-FM, the LGBTQ program on New York’s WBAI radio, hosts The Super Queer Podcast on his Substack. He and Boyd were both contributors to the 1993 anthology Sojourner: Black Gay Voices in the Age of AIDS.
In his introduction to the episode, Glover writes that “The Unfrozen Few has no cardboard renderings of archetypes. These are people with whom you may be familiar; nonetheless, they defy expectation.”
“Super Queer was super fun,” Boyd said. “Tony and I come from the same place in time, so we share a lot of the same reference points and perspectives on life. The conversation flowed naturally, went in all kinds of directions, and we had plenty of good laughs along the way.”
